Today we are taking you behind the scenes of our last photoshoot. This is where the magic happened and our dresses went from pieces of fabrics on a hanger to a beautifully curated lookbook inspiring your next choice of outfit.
On shooting day, we woke up bright and early and headed to the HD Studio in Newcastle. Being a fashion designer isn’t only glitz and glamour and Youma started steaming all the outfits straight away. She always wants things to look perfectand doesn’t mind doing even the smallest task herself. That is what being an entrepreneur is all about!
While our designer was busy preparing the dresses, our beautiful model Rosie Robinson was getting ready with the help of Lucy Maria our talented makeup artist. We went for a simple glamourous look for this collection with dewy skin, a neutral smoky eye, a nude glossy lip and bit of bronzer and highlighter. A look our clients can easily replicate at home!
Then began the fun part of the day, the actual shoot!
It was so much fun that Youma actually decided to join in and model with Rosie! You may think they are sisters but they are not related! Neither of them is the conventional model height yet both looked glamorous and confident in front of the camera. It shows that you don’t have to be a model size to be beautiful!
Behind the lenses was Playboy Magazine photographer ChrisLittlefair who helped us showcase our dresses in series of beautiful pictures that you can see when shopping on our website. Youma and him worked closely to make sure the essence of the Youma Leth’s brand was well captured.
There were many changes of outfits that day which meant even more steaming, sometimes in evening gowns!
It was such a lovely day spent on set, albeit a bit long, and we all slept very well that night! A photo shoot is an essential part of the process of building a brand and is worth the long hours. Thanks to the help of Rosie, Chris and Lucy Maria, Youma was able to translate her vision into a very beautiful lookbook.
We hope you liked that sneak peek behind the scenes and let us know if you want to learn more about the process of designing, creating, running a successful business and woman entrepreneurship!

I’ve decided to start organising wellness retreats with one of the most important people in my life; my mom.
I know what you’re going to say… isn’t launching a yoga retreat WHILE running a full-time fashion business going to be a lot of hard work?!
